Dr. Sherif Boctor
I obtained my veterinary degree in 1996 and started working as a large animal veterinarian in different countries until I moved to Canada with my family in 2003.
I started practicing as a small animal veterinarian in the Edmonton area in 2004. I enjoy solving puzzles in complicated medical cases and also enjoy doing my share of surgeries and dentistry. I have two cats that came to stay with me over the weekend until they were to be adopted, and the usual happened – they never left!
I am happy to join the amazing team at Windermere and be able to have access to state of the art equipment. My goal is simple: treat my patients as if they are my own.
Dr. Dani Wood
I was born and raised in Germany and had already decided early in life that I wanted to become a vet. I came to Canada as a vet student for a 3 months practicum in 2008.
I fell in love with the country and as soon as I graduated in 2009 I came back … this time for good. I have mostly been working in general practice but also worked at an emergency clinic for 1.5 years. I love and enjoy every part of veterinary medicine, my special interests are orthopedic surgeries and ultrasound.
In my free time I love running especially with my very active dog Ruby. I also like swimming, biking and everything outdoors. In the wintertime my weekends are filled with being a dedicated hockey mom for my two boys.
Dr. Dana Madsen
Dr. Madsen grew up in Edmonton and moved back after completing her veterinary degree at the W.C.V.M. in Saskatoon.
She has practiced at various clinics as a locum and is excited to join the team at Windermere. Her professional interests include dentistry and exotics.
Dr. Madsen shares her home with her two daughters, her 3 cats (Pumpkin, Delilah and Gary) and her dog Mercury.
In her spare time Dr. Madsen enjoys cooking, gardening, skiing and being a chauffeur for her daughters to their various social engagements.
Dr. Christy Hitesman
In 2000 I graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Agricultural Sciences before heading off to Saskatoon where I completed my degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Upon graduation, I returned to Edmonton and spent the following 9 years working as a small animal practitioner in a large mixed animal practice in Leduc. Looking for a change, I spent a year as the veterinarian for the city of Edmonton’s Animal Care and Control Centre.
I have lived in south west Edmonton since I was 5, so when the opportunity to work in my neighbourhood presented itself, I could not resist and have been at Windermere ever since. My family is happy to share our home with our two dogs “Emmet” and “Ella”, our cat “Ruby” and our fish “Pistachio”.
Shea, RVT
Shea graduated from the NAIT Veterinary Medical Assistant program in 2013 and the NAIT Animal Health Technology program in 2015. She has been working full time in shelter medicine while maintaining a part time position in private practice since graduation. During the pandemic she started offering various services via the pet sitting app, Rover. Shea is passionate about advocating for homeless and neglected animals and takes a special interest in creating fear free environments for them. When not working one of her various jobs, she spends time fostering for local rescue groups and volunteering on the ABVTA Board of Directors.
Shea and her fiancé Josh own an Australian Cattle Dog named Riggins, a Domestic Short Hair named Dill, two Bumblebee Dart frogs and a Neon Day gecko. She also enjoys trying new foods, hiking, x-country skiing and kayaking!
Dawn, RAHT
I graduated from NAIT’s Animal Health Technology program in 1999. Since then I have worked in small animal, mixed animal and emergency practices. I also volunteer with a local animal rescue.
I have 2 cats of my own, Mud and Nala.
I have a wide variety of interests in veterinary medicine, a few of which include client education, nursing care, laboratory work, and feline behaviour. I look forward to meeting you and your pets, and helping to facilitate your human-animal bond.
Ellysa, RVT
I graduated from NAIT’s AHT program in 2019 and became a part of this fantastic team. I’ve always had a passion for animals; furry, feathered, scaled… I love them all. Becoming a technologist was the perfect career choice and I couldn’t be happier to help every paw and claw that comes through the door.
I have particular interest in anything pet nutrition, surgery and anesthesiology, and geriatric medicine (I just adore the senior citizen patients!). At home, I have two cats (Smokey and Eevee), and a brown-headed parrot (Spike).
Courtney, RVT
I have been working in the veterinary field since 2006 as a technologist assistant and joined the Windermere team in 2016.
In 2020, I graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at Grand Prairie Regional College.
I am a lover of all species and adopting animals in need. My zoo includes Bella (border collie), Roxy (fox terrier), Mabel (domestic short hair cat), Gamble (blue and gold maacw), Chip (cockatiel), Marley (caique), Ailey (blue fronted amazon), as well as Sassy Doll and Fansea (arabian horses) and Joe (quarter horse).
I have an interest in anesthesiology and exotics as well as providing excellent nursing care to your pets.
Yolanda, VMA
Yolanda graduated from Robertson College in 2018 and have been a VMA since. Yolanda grew up around animals and developed a passion for them. She joined Windermere Vet Hospital team in April 2022.
When she is not at work, she is spending time with her Australian Shepherd named Archie. She also likes to read, go for long walks, and spend time with her friends.
Mackenzie, Office Manager
Allison, VMA
I recently moved to the Windermere community in the summer of 2021. I have been in the veterinary field for a few years now and have recently joined the Windermere veterinary team in February of 2022. Prior to working in the veterinary field, I played four years of ACAC basketball & completed my Bachelor of Science.
I grew up with two German Shepherds (Echo & Sydney), however; I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment – even though I regularly claim my parent’s dogs as my own. I have always had a love for animals, and this is what pushed me to pursue the world of veterinary medicine. I plan on continuing my education in the veterinary field one day. Other than that, I enjoy traveling, coaching basketball, pet-sitting and spending time with my loved ones.
I love the warm and friendly environment in the Windermere community, and in the Windermere Veterinary Hospital family itself. The clients, staff and pets have made me feel at home since day one! I look forward to meeting more of the incredible clients and their fur-babies in the foreseeable future!
Taryn, TA
I am Taryn and I am a huge animal lover! I started volunteering with Windermere Veterinary Hospital in 2021 and although this has been my first clinic experience, I was quickly upgraded to a tech assistant!
I am so happy to be working here, it has been amazing to get to know all of my amazing coworkers, patients and clients! I love to exercise and go to the gym in my spare time, as well as spend time with my old puppy Bento. I am looking forward to seeing what the future will hold for me at Windermere Veterinary Hospital!
